ConsignO: Error when converting to PDF/A

Situation

In some situation the conversion to PDF/A will fail as the converter got few limitations regarding the content of the document.

This is caused by some limitations within the conversion as a compression of the document’s information is performed as well (i.e: active fields on a PDF cannot be converted) :

PDF/A differs from PDF by prohibiting features ill-suited to long-term archiving such as hypertext links, animations, .exe and Javascript (Henceforth, adding an additional security aspect to it). It is a lightweight and simplified version of PDF that ensures long term documents readability despite technological innovations, for decades to come.

Resolution

• In this situation, you can launch the conversion and choose another format of PDF/A within ConsignO (PDF/A-1b being the strictest conversion regarding the elements within the documents and PDF/A-3b the softest).
