How to securely send us a legible copy of your ID

Your pieces of ID must be clearly legible by our agent during identity verification. When this is not possible, you must send us an copy of your pieces of ID encrypted using either Microsoft Word or Adobe Acrobat.

We take no responsibility for the confidentiality of identity documents sent unencrypted.

Encrypt using Microsoft Word (2016, 2013 ou 2010)

  1. Copy/paste the scanned copy or photo of your two pieces of ID in a Microsoft Word document.
  2. Click File > Info > Protect document > Encrypt with password.

  3. Enter as password the shared secret agreed with the agent, then enter it again to confirm.
  4. Save the document and send it to iva@notarius.com .

Encrypt using Microsoft Word (2007)

  1. Copy/paste the scanned copy or photo of your two pieces of ID in a Microsoft Word document.
  2. Click the Microsoft Office button > Prepare > Encrypt Document.

  3. Enter as password the shared secret agreed with the agent, then enter it again to confirm.
  4. Save the document and send it to iva@notarius.com .

Encrypt using Adobe Acrobat Standard or Pro

Not applicable to Adobe Acrobat Reader since it cannot encrypt documents.

  1. Open the PDF file that contains the scanned image of your pieces of ID.
  2. Click File > Property, then the tab Security.
  3. Select the security method Password Security.
  4. Select Require a password to open the document, then enter as password the shared secret agreed with the agent, then enter it again to confirm.
  5. Save the document and send it to iva@notarius.com .
